The Study and Go Abroad / SchooFinder Fairs take place in the Spring and Fall each year. They’re designed to help schools and organizations connect with Canadian students interested in undergraduate and graduate studies, gap years, and work / study opportunities — in Canada and around the world.
In Fall 2024, we held fairs in Montréal, Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, and Calgary. We’re happy to report that we had 3,744 student registrations this year — a new record! This is 40% higher than 2023, with registrations in Toronto, Vancouver, and Calgary leading the way.
This success was in part due to moving the events away from weekday afternoons to weekends / early evenings. In addition to country-wide school mailings, and extensive digital and social marketing, we used targeted ‘guerrilla’ marketing this year, which also seems to have helped.
Our efforts to build deeper relationships with high school counsellors and post-secondary student unions and faculties has also had an effect. These connections helped get students out to the events and will help us organize school visits for you in the future.
Here’s a quick look at the registrant profile:
- About 60% are interested in undergraduate studies
- 20% graduate school
- 20% in gap years, work / study, and high school
In total, exhibitors collected 2,794 student leads during the event.
To gather these leads, this fall we launched QRConnect, which made check-in easier for students, and enabled exhibitors to easily collect leads at their booth. We’re adding gamification for future fairs — the next of which is in Spring 2025 — which allow us to direct students to specific booths to engage and win prizes.
