Recruiting Students in Canada: What’s New at the Recruit in Canada / SchoolFinder Fairs

/ / Blog

As the post-secondary recruitment landscape continues to evolve, so do the Recruit in Canada / SchoolFinder Fairs!

Note: the Recruit in Canada Fairs is the brand name for non-Canadian institutions, and SchoolFinder Fairs is the brand name for institutions in Canada.

Every fair cycle, we take a close look at what our exhibitors and students need most from in-person events: strong student turnouthigher quality leads, and more efficient ways to engage and follow up. Based on feedback combined with our own data, we continue to make targeted improvements and build on them for upcoming seasons.

Whether you’ve attended in the past or are considering joining us for the first time, here’s what’s new.

New Venues to Maximize Exposure

We’ve moved our fairs to more centralhigh-traffic venues in key cities. The goal is simple: make it easier for students to attend and harder to miss your institution. These locations improve walk-in traffic, boost visibility, and create a more energetic event, helping you connect with a broader and more engaged audience.

Faster, Easier Lead Capture with Improved QRConnect™

First launched in 2024, our in-house lead capture tool, QRConnect™, makes scanning student information faster and more seamless than ever. No app download, no manual entry, and now the ability to add notes — so you can spend less time managing leads and more time having meaningful conversations.

QRConnect™ Email Follow Up

Capturing leads is only half the equation. With QRConnect™ emails, we’ll set up automated replies to your fair leads, making it easier to manage your post-fair communications without juggling multiple systems. It’s designed to help you respond quickly, while student interest is still high.

Coming in Fall 2026, you’ll be able to manage this follow up directly through our New Client Centre.

Generate More Leads with the Post-Event Lead Push

Following the Fairs, we send personalized emails to all registrants in every city, offering them the opportunity to request more information from any exhibitor. This widens the reach of all exhibitors and ensures students connect with schools they may have missed.

Counsellor Networking Days

In select markets, we’ve created dedicated opportunities for you to connect face-to-face with high school counsellors. Our Counsellor Networking Days are designed to strengthen relationships that influence student decision-making long before an application is submitted.

Returning in Fall 2026!

High School Visit Planning Tools

As part of the Fairs, we want to make it easier for you to identify the most suitable schools to visit in each city while you’re here — so we’ve developed guides to help you identify the public and private secondary schools, colleges, and universities that have students interested in studying in your province or country.

As an exhibitor, your contact details will distributed to targeted schools across Canada. Click here to view the list we shared with these schools.

List of Event Registrants

Starting in Spring 2026, you will receive a full list of the event registrants who opted in to receive further information.

School and Program Profiles on SchoolFinder.com

As an exhibitor, you get a free profile listing on SchoolFinder.com, which showcases your programs and scholarships year round. This extends your visibility beyond the event and is available to all students searching for schools worldwide.

Every improvement we’ve made is grounded in one question: How do we help schools make the most of their time and investment at in-person events?

We’re excited about what’s ahead and look forward to welcoming both familiar and new institutions. For more information about the upcoming fairs:
